Stan Fischler

Stan Fischler (b. Brooklyn, New York) is a noted hockey and New York City Subway historian, broadcaster, author and professor.

For his hockey expertise, Fischler is known as “The Hockey Maven” in both local and national circles. Fischler is an analyst for the New Jersey Devils and New York Islanders on FSN New York and the New York Rangers on MSG. He also provides general hockey analysis on MSG and writes columns for the network's website (MSG.com).

In addition to broadcasting, Fishcler is also a noted author. He has authored or co-authored more than 90 books on hockey or the NYC subway system, frequently co-writing with his wife. His books include: "The Hockey Encyclopedia”, “Everybody's Hockey Book”, ”Hockey Chronicle“ “The New NHL Encyclopedia”, and most recently “MetroIce: A Century of Hockey in Greater New York”, focusing on the Rangers, Islanders and Devils franchises. His most famous subway book is Uptown, Downtown.
