Stamford Brook

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Stamford Brook is the confluence of three smaller streams, arising in West London, flowing into Hammersmith Creek and thence into the River Thames. By 1900, this brook had been covered over and is now a sewer.

Stamford Brook has given its name to the local London Underground station, Stamford Brook tube station.

The Chelsea Football Club ground Stamford Bridge is also situated in West London, but is not, as the name suggests, at the site of a crossing point.
