Stadionul Dumitru Sechelariu was a multi-use stadium in Bacău, Romania. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of FCM Bacău. The stadium holds 17,500 people. Recently, the name "Sechelariu" was changed into "Municipal" after a public outcry against any signs that made people of Bacau city remember their former Mayor, Dumitru Sechelariu. Actually, on the night of 20th June 2004, when the poll estimated results showed that Sechelariu, considered by many as a local dictator, has been defeated, a mob of several hundred people went to the stadium and tried to destroy the sign which said, "Stadionul Dumitru Sechelariu." After a heated debate, the local counsellors decided to change the name of the local stadium. The stadium has a night installation.
