The Church of Saint Oswald on Church Street, in Malpas, Cheshire stands on or near the site of a Norman Motte and bailey castle. It is Grade I listed church and is recognised as being one of the best examples in Cheshire of late C15/early C16 Churches.

Originally built in the late C14 on possibly earlier foundations, but largely rebuilt above cill level in the late C15 in the Perpendicular style. It is constructed of red sandstone with lead roofs. It has a massive 3-stage tower with diagonal west buttresses, angled east buttresses, and south-east octagonal turret.

The Gates at the South East corner of Saint Oswalds churchyard in Church Street, Malpas, Cheshire were originally made for Oulton Park probably in the 1720's at the time of John Vanbrugh's work there. They were moved to Malpas churchyard in 1773. The gates were listed as Grade II* on the 28th August 1985. The gates are listed as with overthrow, side screen gatepiers and steps, with handrails.

The Gates at the South West corner of Saint Oswalds churchyard in Church Street, Malpas, Cheshire were also originally made for Oulton Park probably in the 1720's at the time of John Vanbrugh's work there. The gates were listed as Grade II* on the 28th August 1985. The gates are listed as Pair of gates, gatepiers and steps.
