St Marys is a town in the north-east of Tasmania, Australia. It lies on the Tasman Highway, slightly inland from the coast.. It has a population of 549 (2001 census)[1], although in the early 2000s it was one of the fastest growing areas of Tasmania. The town is part of the Break O'Day Council.
In December 2006, bushfires ravaged the nearby area.
