[edit] Who is St Kizito?

St. Kizito was an African child, a Ugandan martyr. In 1885 he became a Catholic and died for his beliefs at the age of 14 years. He was burned on a funeral pyre because he would not perform sexual favours for the King of Uganda. St Charles, one of the other 14 Ugandan martyrs, told St Kizito that he would hold his hand when the fire was lit so that together they would go to heaven. It is this concept of solidarity that inspires the St Kizito children's program.
