[edit] History
Saint Annes has a facinating history. The parish originally used to meet for mass in the Hardwick Arms public house, Streetly where the landlord was a practicising Catholic. The parishoners saved up money and later built their own church buildings on Bridle Lane, where the church is currently sited.
In the late 80's the land at the back of the church was sold built upon and a little housing estate established. The parishoners were asked to vote for a name for the new road and it was decided that the close be named Francis Close after Father Francis Carr.
In 2005 the church was refurbished, with an extention added to the back of the church to create a meeting space, kitchens and larger choir loft.
