St Albans is a railway station in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is located on the Sydenham line in the suburb of St Albans.

The station is in Metcard Zone 2 and was converted to a Premium Station in 1996, meaning that it is staffed from first to last train.

[edit] Facilities

The station was the former terminus for the electified St Albans railway line until 2002 when the electrification was extended to Sydenham. This station has three platforms - one on the UP direction, and two on the DOWN direction. The platform on the UP direction was for V/Line trains heading to the Melbourne, and this platform was across from the actual station. Platform 2 was for V/Line services heading to Sunbury or Bendigo in the DOWN direction while Platform 3 in the DOWN direction was for trains to terminate and to go back to the city. A new platform was built for trains to stop for services to the city for and not to stop at the platform across from the actual station. The original UP platform is now disused.
