St. Patrick's Street

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

St Patrick's Street in English or Sráid Naomh Pádraig in Irish, and affectionately called Pana by Corkonians, is the main shopping street in Cork and is the heart of the city. Since its redevelopment in 2004, it has twice won the award as Ireland's best shopping street. [1]

The street itself runs in a curve from St Patrick's Quay to Daunt Square where it meets Grand Parade. St Patrick's Street is given its curved shape as it is built over an arm of the River Lee. It is home to a number of notable retail outlets such as Debenhams, Penney's, Dunnes Stores and Brown Thomas.
