St. Michael's Preparatory School, Jersey

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

St. Michael's Preparatory School is the largest private preparatory school in Jersey, and is over 50 years old. It offers a high standard of education for boys and girls aged 4-13.

It is often seen more as a status symbol for Jersey's wealthy inhabitants, although the quality of teaching remains second to none. There is a Pre-prep department (from age 4-7), and a senior school which goes up to age 13. The vast majority of pupils are prepared to take the Common Entrance Examination at 13, although some choose to go to secondary school in Jersey. St. Michael's leavers often go to some of the most prestigious public schools in the country. The two schools with probably the largest intake from St. Michael's are Canford School in Dorset and King's College, Taunton.
