St. Mary's International School is a Catholic school for boys located in the Setagaya ward of Tokyo, Japan. The primary language of instruction is English.
The nine-acre campus features an indoor swimming pool, an indoor basketball court, a full-size soccer field, several tennis courts, and various playground facilities. The three-story classroom buildings hold classes for grades 1 through 12, plus a readiness program and programs for students using English as an additional language.
Additionally, the school features a large English-language library for study. A chapel and on-site residency for the brothers are also available.
St. Mary's has also recently been saving up money for an upcoming school project where they will be building a bigger, newer school. This project is projected to start in the next coming year if things go as planned.
The school was founded in 1954 by the Brothers of Christian Instruction and resides in the St. Francis Xavier district of the FIC. The school serves the male children of expatriates living in or near Tokyo, as well as many Japanese students seeking a Western, English-language education.
It offers the International Baccalaureate program.
The school is served by the Futako-Tamagawa Station (Tōkyū Den-en-toshi Line) and Kami-noge Station (Tokyu Oimachi Line) train stations. A fleet of 12 buses owned and operated by the school moves students throughout Tokyo.
The current tuition is 2 million yen a year, which is approximately US$20,000. Part of that money goes into a full-color yearbook.
