St. Mary's High School (Stockton)

Saint Mary's High School is a private, four year, Roman Catholic high school under the direction of the Bishop of the Diocese of Stockton. It is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Western Catholic Education Association. Currently, the school serves 1,200 young men and women, with a faculty of over 100 including 6 religious. Students typically take seven classes each semester, including a required course in religion. St. Mary's also offers a number of Advanced Placement and honors courses for students who wish to pursue a more challenging course load. 72% of the juniors and seniors take upper division mathematics; 67% of the juniors and seniors are enrolled in upper division science. Also 69% of the students are enrolled in French, Italian, or Spanish. After school, the majority of the student body participates in school sponsored activities. These activities include 14 sports teams (football, volleyball, water polo, soccer, tennis, basketball, wrestling, baseball, softball, cross-country, track, swimming/diving, badminton, and golf), cheerleading, music/theatre, and many service clubs. Saint Mary's High School is famous around the local community of it's outstanding athletic program and success. It is known by most as the #1 academic institution in San Joaquin County (that includes the University of the Pacific)
