[edit] Introduction

. St. Joseph High School was created in 1962 by the Diocese of Bridgeport,_Connecticut. The school teaches grades nine through twelve. The current president is Mr. Richard A. Bishop who will be retiring at the end of this year. There are currently 900 students enrolled at St. Joseph's.

St. Joes has a wide range of classes available to all students. This wide range of academics is divided into three levels based on learning ability: College Enrichment Program (CEP), College Prep (CP), and Honors courses.

St. Joseph's is widely known for their sports programs. The varsity basketball team has has won many conference championships, and over 15 state championships. FORMERLY Led by coach Vito Montelli, who recently was elected into the basketball hall of fame, he has also has been the coach of the McDonald's All American Basketball Team. His teams have also been ranked in the top 25 in the country. The football program also boasts many state championships. They have won 10 state championships and 20 conference titles. As of late, St. Joseph's High School has been in the bottom half of the FCIAC, behind new league Powerhouse Trumbull High School, coached by Bob Maffei.

Actor/comedian Kevin Nealon is a graduate of St. Joseph High School.
