The St. Joseph, Missouri Metropolitan Area includes all of Buchanan County, and portions of Andrew, Holt, Dekalb Counties on the Missouri side, and Doniphan and Atchison Counties on the Kansas side. The vast majority of the population is located in Buchanan and Andrew Counties predominantly in the city of Saint Joseph.
