St. Joseph's Nudgee College is located in the suburb of Boondall in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The College, a Christian Brothers College, inspired by the dream of the Brothers' founder, Blessed Edmund Ignatius Rice, seeks to educate the whole person in the context of enhancing faith for the future. Tuition is offered to boys in years 8-12. College Residences accommodate, in individual rooms, boys from years 6-12. Nudgee's Primary Boarders are transported to St Patrick's College, Shorncliffe for their tuition each day.

[edit] History
Established in 1891, the school is a Catholic boys' school, and caters for both day students and boarders. It is a member of the prestigious Queensland GPS Association. The location for the College was selected by Rev. Br. P.A. Treacy, founder of the Australian Province of the Christian Brothers, at the request of the Archbishop of Brisbane at the time, Most Rev. Robert Dunne D.D.. Rev. Br. D.F. Bodkin was appointed first Headmaster.
The main building, whose facade was used in the movie Phar Lap, was completed in 1891. The matching chapel was completed in 1916 and is frequently used for weddings and funerals in addition to school celebrations. In 1993, after refurbishment, it won Royal Australian Institute of Architects Conservation Award [1] and Regional Commendation. A second school building was completed in 1919. All 3 buildings were in Italian Renaissance Style. In 1938 Nudgee Junior College was opened at a separate campus in Indooroopilly. Building has continued at Boondall, and the campus now has an array of sporting and academic facilities including 2 swimming pools, tennis and basketball courts, a 9 hole golf course, rifle range, full track and field provision, numerous cricket and football ovals as well as an international college, and several halls.
[edit] College Mission Statement
We are members of the Nudgee College Family, founded by the Christian Brothers to provide a balanced education for the development of the whole person.
Faithful to the dream of Edmund Rice, we hold a special concern to act justly and with compassion especially towards those most in need.
Our College Family is based on a century of Catholic faith, residential care, the service of others, loyalty and friendship.
In Jesus our brother, we are determined in our struggle to uphold, communicate and nurture the values of the Gospel.
We work together to create an environment where every person is respected and each student is encouraged to strive in the academic, spiritual, social, personal, cultural and sporting aspects of life.
Our goal is that each member of our family will become for the world, a Sign of Faith: Signum Fidei
