St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church is a Roman Catholic church and parish named after Saint Gerard Majella and located in Carlingford, New South Wales, Australia.
The church is in the Diocese of Broken Bay.
It separated from the nearby "Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church" parish at Epping on 3 March 1963, however it shares a priest, staff and youth group with that parish. Today, it is likely the two parishes will again be combined (see Parishes: One or two)
The St. Gerard Majella Catholic Primary School was opened by the Sisters of Mercy in September, 1964.
A new Church building was completed in 1972 and Father Nolan continued as Parish Priest until his retirement in 1978. Father Finian Egan, V.F., was then appointed in his place.
The current Parish Priest is Father Colin Blayney, PP. Father Colin became Parish Priest in early 2001, after Father Egan retired.
