St. Clare's Monastery

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

St. Clare's Monastery is a Franciscan monastery in Duncan, British Columbia, Canada. It also goes by the name "Poor Clare Sisters." They are a community of religious women who, by living the charism of Saint Clare and Francis of Assisi, are called to be co-workers with Christ, revealing the depths of God's continuing love for humanity.

In 1912, three Sisters came to Victoria, British Columbia, and established on December 8, 1912 the first English speaking Monastery of the Primitive Observance of St. Clare in Canada. From Victoria the community relocated in 1973 to their present location in Duncan.
