St. Bernard Parish Public Schools

St. Bernard Parish Public Schools is a school district that operates all of the public schools in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana.

After Hurricane Katrina struck in fall 2005, the parish's public schools were been consolidated as one school, the St. Bernard Unified School, or SBUS.

Starting in the 2006-2007 school year, the St. Bernard Unified School broke up.

The plans are: April/May, 2006 - Solicit bids for the rebuilding of Andrew Jackson July, 2006 - Solicit bids for the rebuilding of Trist August, 2006 - Reopen Chalmette High for older students - Open Andrew Jackson for younger students January 2007 - Open Trist (if enrollment dictates) -Solicit bids for Lacoste repairs (CHS expansion) -Solicit bids for repairing additional schools if enrollment dictates (St. Bernard High, NOVA, Gauthier, Rowley, Beauregard) August, 2007-Open Lacoste as extension of Chalmette High -Open additional schools if enrollment dictates
