Stéphane Picq
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Stéphane Picq (born August 16, 1965) is a French composer of computer game music, primarily for Cryo Interactive. He first began composing in 1987, but retired from the industry in 1998, moving to Madagascar. Stéphane gave some news on an Internet forum in february 2006. He told that he is building a new studio in Madagascar and that he can make a compilation of old songs.
[edit] Musical style
Stéphane Picq owns dozens of instruments from all over the world and can play all of them. His musical style is unique because it has "organic sonority" : lots of "organic sounds" are used: breath, water, sighs... The best example of his style is Dune: Spice Opera, but you can also find this technique in other tracks from Cryo's video games (track "Thaa's Secret" from Lost Eden (Marioland Theme), for example). He has written at least 232 different pieces and continues to produce music.
