The correct title of this article is srvx. The initial letter is shown capitalized due to technical restrictions.

srvx is a set of IRC services for use with P10 or Bahamut compatible IRC networks. It provides service bots for:

  • User authentication (and possibly nick ownership)
  • Channel management
  • IRC operator functionality
  • On-connect messages (motd) and network-wide messaging

Proxy scanning can be performed if desired, and the scanner itself is fairly customizable.

srvx is a set of IRC services for ircu P10 protocol networks; it is developed by a team of programmers affiliated with the GameSurge IRC Network. srvx is designed to be a fast, extensible, scalable and reliable provider of NickServ(AuthServ), ChanServ, HelpServ, OperServ, and Global services as well as advanced proxy detection. srvx also has modifications that can be enabled such as snoop-mod (which sends all server connects/disconnects, channel joins/parts, kicks, nick changes, to a channel specified in the configuration file.) This way IRC Operators and Administrators are able to find any information about a user with a simple click and are able to react fast to botnets, and other common network problems. Another modification is MemoServ which allows you to send a memo to a registered user and will alert them of the received memo if they are online, or will alert then upon authenticating to their account.

srvx is open source software; the source is available for download. See www.srvx.net for more details.

GameSurge, a network of over forty thousand users dedicated to gaming, uses srvx in production with minimal downtime. GameSurge is a sponsor of srvx development.
