Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute (SRMC & RI) is a private university situated in Porur, Chennai, India.

SRMC was founded by Shri NPV Ramaswamy Udayar [1936 - 1998] on September 11th 1985. The medical college became deemed in the year 1994 and it became an autonomous University in December, 2006

In the year 1997, SRMC started a partnership with Harvard university in Cambridge. Starting with student exchange the alliance has spearheaded curriculum reform, focused on health care quality and safety and leadership and faculty development.

Sri Ramachandra Medical Center (SRMC) is a tertiary care multi-specialty university hospital. With over 1500 beds, 114 ICU beds, 25 operating rooms and a campus spread over 175 acres, SRMC is one of the largest private health care facility in South Asia.

The Deemed University of SRMC, now consisting of 9 Constituent Colleges with over 45 Departments offering about 85 courses in Health care and medical studies and research with more than 3500 students.
