All round development, discipline and leadership are the high points of the Kumaran culture. The school with almost 48 years in the education field has continued support and involvement of parents in the south of Bangalore. The culture of the school revolves around customer focus and the educational services are rendered in line with the vision, mission, values and beliefs of the school.

Sri Kumaran Children’s Home (CBSE) was started in 1995 and is a part of the Kumaran’s Group of Institutions run by Sri Kumaran Children’s Home Educational Council serving the cause of quality education for the last 48 years. The aim of Sri Kumarans CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) is to channelise the potential of students both in the academic arena and out of it. It draws students, from all over the country and abroad to impart standard education and promote all round development. The school has classes from I to XII. Presently it has about 1180 students and 70 teachers.

It was one of the first schools in Bangalore to implement a School Management System (SMS) and Theatre in Education (TIE). It has well equipped Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer labs. It also has a well-lit and spacious library in its southeastern wing. The number of books in the library exceeds 10,000 and it can be concluded that the student and the book ratio is a good one – Borrowing facilities start from class I onwards and each child (IV onwards) can borrow 2-4 books. The school believes that it will address two long-term needs: inculcate the reading habit and teach the tiny tots to manage the school property.

It also has a Craft centre and a canteen.

The school's motto is 'Lead Kindly Light'.
