Srđan Dragojević (Serbian: Срђан Драгојевић, born January 1st, 1963 in Belgrade) is a Serbian film director and screenwriter, famous for his successful 1990s films.
He has a degree in psychology and film direction from the University of Belgrade. In 1992 his directorial debut Mi nismo anđeli ("We are not angels") turned out to be one of the most popular films in Serbia as well as the rest of former Yugoslavia. Four years later he addressed the issues related to the Yugoslav Wars with his controversial dark comedy Pretty Village, Pretty Flame and in 1998 he gave a very bleak and critical portrayal of Serbia under the regime of Slobodan Milošević in The Wounds. He received a Hollywood deal off the strength of these movies, but was unable to persuade Miramax to fund any of his projects[1]. Dragojević has returned to making Serbian films, including Mi nismo anđeli 2, the sequel to his greatest commercial hit.
