[edit] History

The Cougars are currently in their inaugural season. The team began play in September 2006 and played its very first game on September 22nd, 2006. They lost the game to the Armstrong Sharks by a score of 6-3.

Like the other teams in the WHA Junior West Hockey League, the Cougars got their name from one of the old World Hockey Association teams, in this case, from the Chicago Cougars, they also are using the same logo and team colours.

The Cougars finished their first ever season in 3rd place overall out of six teams. They entered the playoff round robin against the New Westminster Whalers and Bellingham Bulls. The Whalers edged out the Cougars to move on to the league final.
