Springfield College (Illinois)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Springfield College or Springfield College in Illinois (SCI) is a college in the capital city of the U.S. state of Illinois, Springfield. The school was founded in 1929 by the Ursuline Sisters. The school remained an associate's degree granting institution until it entered into a partnership with Benedictine University in January 2003.[1] The partnership with Benedictine resulted in SCI awarding its first bachelor's degrees and is the first step in a general merger of the two institutions per the guidelines of the Illinois Board of Higher Education and the U.S. Department of Education.[2][1] The institution is also partnered with private Springfield Ursuline Academy High School.[3]
