[edit] Banner sportslogos.net.gif removed from your user page

An image or media file, Image:Banner sportslogos.net.gif, has been removed from your userpage or user talk page because it was licensed as fair use. Wikipedia's fair use policy states that fair use images should only be used in the article namespace. As a result, although users are often given a great amount of latitude in the type of content that is allowed on their user pages, it is requested that you abide by this policy. Feel free, however, to add images and media files licensed under other terms. For more information, see Wikipedia's fair use policy and an accompanying essay on the removal of fair use images. Thank you for your cooperation.

I added it only because it's the banner from the site that every image I upload comes from. That's a message, I'm not advertising (unless it comes way inadvertent) I'm telling every where the image will be uploaded Sportslogos.net 02:30, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Bucs 4.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Bucs 4.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 04:05, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your username

Are you in fact Chris Creamer, or associated with Chris Creamer Properties, Inc. or his Sportslogos.net website? If not, your username is not a good idea because it may be blocked by another administrator who may cite one of the following items on Wikipedia's crtieria of inappropriate usernames:

  • "Accounts with usernames that advertise a particular website, company, etc. (e.g. "visit [name of url]" ) are discouraged and may be blocked."
  • "Trademarked names ... should not be used in a username."

The larger problem is that your username should never be confusing or misleading in such a way that it may lend your edits a false authority. Thus if you are in no way affiliated with Creamer or his website, I recommend that you change your username at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible. Thanks. As requested, I have renamed you as User:TheSportsLogosMaster. You may now like to move your userpages to the new name. Warofdreams talk 01:50, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
