that enabled it to function identically to Template:Spolier-about. In other words, it displayed normally if no parameter was added, but the "about" part was included if a parameter was present. A few minutes after your revert, Netoholic reverted

[edit] Merger with Template:Spoiler

DESiegel:

You misunderstood my actions. I created {{spoiler-about}}, so I'm well aware of the need for this type of functionality.

I didn't simply redirect the template to {{spoiler}}. As indicated in my edit summary, I merged the two templates together.

I added an optional parameter to {{spoiler}} that enabled it to function identically to {{spoiler-about}}. In other words, it displayed normally if no parameter was added, but the "about" part was included if a parameter was present.

A few minutes after your revert, Netoholic reverted {{spoiler}} back to its previous format, so I'll leave {{spoiler-about}} alone (pending the result of that dispute). —Lifeisunfair 17:42, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

Before I reverted I looked at spoiler, and either the change had already been reverted or I failed to see it. I can see that a merge using an optional parameter might be a good idewa, and I am not strongly opposed to it. Technically i think Netoholic is not supposed to be revertign in the template namespace, but I think the best option is to discuss the matter. I am more than willing to join such a discussion on the proper talk page, and to accept whatever consenus develops. 17:55, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
You didn't see the change because it only appeared within the actual template on pages that used it with the parameter (any article containing {{spoiler-about}}).
I agree that the best strategy is to discuss the matter at Template talk:Spoiler, and I intend to later today (when I have the free time). —Lifeisunfair
I have alrady made a comment on that page. Let the discussions begin! DES (talk) 18:10, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
