Spoonman is an electronica duo that was formed in late 2005 in Marietta, Georgia. The group came out of a band practice that was supposed to be a rock band. With equipment failure of a bass guitar, Spoonman was created. In early 2006 Spoonman planned to self release a set of ep's on soundclick but that plan was lost when the duo was signed to the indie label Solis Digital. Their first release was titled Discover and was released September 17. Discover featured the sporadic house sound that the duo had been crafting for sometime as well as a new trance inspired sound.

Spoonman is considered electronica and can foray into different subgenres. The first of which would be techno, although recently there has been a move into more experimentation and some hints at jazz influences creating a sound incorporating that jazz and the electronic sounds of past Spoonman work. Spoonman has continued to progress as their first release is due out.
