Spondylitis is an inflammation of a vertebra. Any disorder of the spinal column may be called spondylopathy, also.
Pott's disease is tuberculous disease of the vertebrae marked by stiffness of the vertebral column, pain on motion, tenderness on pressure, prominence of certain of the vertebral spines, and occasionally abdominal pain, abscess formation, and paralysis.
Ankylosing spondylitis is an autoimmune disease involving the spine and sacroiliac joints.
