A Miller spot welder. As configured this machine will output a maximum of 12,000 amps because of its 18 in (45 cm) tongs. If the machine were configured with 6 in (15 cm) tongs it would flow a maximum of 14,500 amps. Shut off motor when not in use refers to the pump for the water cooling system and does not refer to any motor internal to the spot welder. The black tube to the left of the main blue body (under the tongs) is a foot pedal that allows the operator to hold small pieces and still actuate the machine.
