Splenic marginal zone lymphoma

Splenic marginal zone lymphoma is an indolent lymphoma recognized by the World Health Organization. The natural history is benign, characterized by a long period of quiescent behavior and progressive splenomegaly.

A monoclonal paraprotein can be present in this lymphoma subcategory.

Splenectomy is frequently curative, though not always necessary.
