Spleen and Ideal is the sophomore album recorded by Dead Can Dance, released in 1985. This album marked a departure from their initial post-punk and gothic music origins in their debut album, Dead Can Dance, and followed a more world music oriented content, with lyrics based on the writings of Charles Baudelaire and Thomas de Quincey.
