  1. Please stop. You have been repeatedly asked to stop editing the sizes of fair use images, however I noticed you doing it again on The Automatic. Please take the time to read through the Wikipedia Image Use Policy which states that images should not be any wider than 250px. May I remind you that this is particularly important for where Fair Use Images are used. If you would like to query this further please do not hesitate to contact me on my talk page. Thanks. Oggy 15:47, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
  2. Please do not remove warnings from your talk page or replace them with offensive content. Removing or maliciously altering warnings from your talk page will not remove them from the page history. [edit] A couple of comments

Hi there! Thanks for your various edits to Wikipedia recently, especially to music related pages. However, could I just make a few suggestions?

  • To begin with, it's recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history.
  • When editing, please add something to the "Edit summary" field under the main edit-box. The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. This helps fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
  • Just one final point regarding images. When using copyrighted images under fair use it is essential that you add both a source and some form of fair use rationale so that we can ensure that the images do count as fair use. See what to include on image description page for more information.

Sorry if that sounded like a bit of a rant, but it all helps to make using Wikipedia easier for you and other contributors. If you need any further help please don't hesitate to leave me a message on my talk page. Happy editing! Oggy 11:48, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Band names as images

I removed the band name image you added to the Gnarls Barkley article because I don't think it qualifies as fair use. Per WP:FU images used under fair use must "contribute significantly to the article" and "the amount of copyrighted work used should be as little as possible." As the logo image does not really add significantly to the article in a way that a simple text would not, I don't think it should be used. --Fritz Saalfeld (Talk) 19:20, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image sizes

Please note that according to Wikipedia guidelines images should be displayed between 200-250 pixel width. Also, it is not necessary to upload larger versions of fair use images (as you did with the "Crazy" cover), since these are only displayed at 250px width max. and the smaller images have a better fair use claim. --Fritz Saalfeld (Talk) 10:12, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

Why did you just re-add the large version when I just explained to you why the smaller version is better? --Fritz Saalfeld (Talk) 10:26, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
From Spin Boy 11, don't argue with me. The large version is more high quality. (Talk) 10:29, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
But since it is not used in any article that large there is no need for such a large version, and the small one has a much better fair use claim. And I don't think "don't argue with me" goes along with Wiki policies. --Fritz Saalfeld (Talk) 10:39, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

Seriously: Look, we've asked you nicely before yet you're still insisting on placing large images on Wikipedia, and reverting the changes we've made to keep them to a reasonable size, even though we've explained that images over 250px are against the Wikipedia Image Use Policy. This is especially important for Fair Use Images , which are copyrighted and can only be used under certain conditions. Please stop. Thanks. Oggy 16:30, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

The same goes for the image on Fill My Little World. High resolution images are not considered fair use. Also you need to add a fair use rationale to the images you upload. Please stop replacing the image with the larger one you have uploaded. -- AnemoneProjectors (talk) 20:50, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image size again

Just another reminder that high resolution images are not considered fair use. I have uploaded a lower resolution version of Image:TheFeeling-FillMyLittleWorld7Inch.jpg for you. You must also provide a fair use rationale when you upload any copyrighted image, otherwise your images may be deleted. Take a look at Help:Image page if you need any help. — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 21:31, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:YoungKnives-Decision2.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:YoungKnives-Decision2.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

[edit] The Flaming Lips WikiProject

Hello! I have noticed that you are a fan of The Flaming Lips. As you may or may not know, there is an associated WikiProject for the band. We would be delighted if you were to join and help make Wikipedia a better source for information about all things Lips! -MajorB 00:30, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding edits to Octopus (The Bees album)

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia, Spin Boy 11! However, your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the link you added, matching rule \.photobucket\.com\/, is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. Please read Wikipedia's external links policy for more information. If the link was to an image, please read Wikipedia's image tutorial on how to use a more appropriate method to insert the image into an article. If your link was intended to promote a site you own, are affiliated with, or will make money from inclusion in Wikipedia, please note that inserting spam into Wikipedia is against policy. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! Shadowbot 15:26, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
