[edit] José Dirceu
Hello, I have added some information to the page José Dirceu. Take a look and see if you agree. Thank you. --Carlosar 18:58, 12 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks, I don't even know who he is, I just wikified the article because it was listed on the need for wikification/cleanup articles list :P. It certainly looks better than before. SpiceMan 04:31, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Barnstar
Outstanding work in the Copa America articles! I'm hoping you will eventually get aroud to the editions whose articles are still stubs. Congrats again! Regards, Redux 03:29, 27 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Thanks :). I'm working on it ;) SpiceMan 29 June 2005 07:04 (UTC)

Did you know? has been updated. A fact from the article Benito Quinquela Martín, which you recently created, has been featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently-created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page. |
[edit] Celebrating
Hi! I've just crossed a symbolic milestone. Three thousand edits! I feel like celebrating. Have a cigar! Don't worry, I don't smoke them either, but it's all good :)! Cheers, Redux 15:05, 19 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Images
Hi, Spice! Don't forget to upload your images at commons:Special:Upload in commons: in order to make them available to all the wikipojects, and not only to the english wikipedia. Thank you, Mariano 07:30, 1 August 2005 (UTC)
- Commons is a repository of free images, audio, etc. I didn't create any of the images, just browsed and uploaded them as Fair use. SpiceMan 13:57, 1 August 2005 (UTC)
You're right, I only recently learned about the discrepancy regarding fair use between wiki-projects. -Mariano 15:01, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Help with formatting
Hi. If you have some time to spare, could you give me a hand with the formatting of this article? It's a volleyball competition, but I'm looking to create a similar format to the one you posted for the Copa América articles. On the righthand side of the boards, I was thinking of listing match results (e.g. "Brazil 3-0 Argentina" - similar to the football scores), but right under it, I was thinking of having an extra line stating the sets results (e.g. 25/10 25/12 25/14). So far, however, I haven't been able to pull off the code to make it happen. Maybe you could lend me a hand? Thanks, Redux 02:40, 4 August 2005 (UTC)
- something like this? Other approach would be doing it like Copa América 1997, with the results on the right, and a more detailed table below for each match. SpiceMan 08:45, 4 August 2005 (UTC)

- Thank you for responding. This format you suggest seems to work fine. I had considered the table with the extra information underneath, but then I thought that it might not work so well for Volleyball matches. Once we've said the match score (3-1, v.g.), and the sets scores (25/10 25/18, etc.), there isn't much left to be said. Plus, in this particular competition, all matches will be taking place at the exact same stadium, so I'm thinking that will be included in the general description. But I welcome any ideas for extra information in the article. Maybe match statistics (leading scorer for each team, etc.)? The information might be a little difficult to come by though. Thanks again, Redux 13:19, 4 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Comment
Sorry to bother you, I just wanted to comment you something. In Spanish and Portuguese the use of a country's name as an adjective is not written in capital letters, but I think in English it is. Good job on Techint. Good wiking, Mariano 14:08, 23 August 2005 (UTC).
- Here I am, always ready to bother. :o)
- Probably within a cut&paste procedure you left some text unfinished at José Manuel Moreno#Trivia :"Holds the world record of most league titles in". C U! -Mariano 07:28, 26 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Major football rivalries
I added another comment to the Talk page.
Besides that article, I'd like to know your opinion on the discussion at Talk:C.D. Chivas USA. It turns out that the couple of editors who do most of the editing on MLS aritcles have decided between themselves, with no publicity or discussion with other Wikipedia editors, that ALL American citizens in the MLS should have names without diacritics. This even includes those who were born in Mexico (e.g. Aarón López), but who now have US citizenship. BlankVerse ∅ 04:02, 28 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:San Martin arrives Buenos Aires.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:San Martin arrives Buenos Aires.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ZsinjTalk 03:49, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hey, that sounds like a great idea. You have a whole week to do it. :-) --ZsinjTalk 17:40, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] World Cup (Brazil) article
Hi SpiceMan. I'm considering a project related to the upcoming 2006 FIFA World Cup. In a system similar to the country-specific articles created for the Olympics, I'm considering the creation of an article titled Brazil at the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Even though the competition has not yet started, I was thinking that work could already start: we can list the results for the South American Qualifying stage, as well as any matches played in preparation specifically for the World Cup, Tivia facts, etc. Once Parreira drafts the team, we can list it there, plus all the detailed work to be done as the competition progresses. I'll be contacting other Brazilian users who might be interested in joining this effort as well. Maybe this will even encourage others to do a similar job for other countries (I'm not aware that any such project is underway currently). Redux 19:44, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
