[edit] Merge
I don’t believe that it is a good idea at all to merge any of the stated articles because TT-line is the owner of the ships not the ships them selves. I agree the spirit of Tasmania article has moved away from it original purpose going to much in to TT-line and not enough to the ships but it still needs to remain independent to TT-line as it is about the ships not the company so with saying that I think the devil cat should not be on that page because it has nothing to do with spirit of Tasmania but TT-line and I think the page could speak more on the ships them self’s maybe even a disambiguation with each ship having its own page as is the case with the original spirit, Abel Tasman and the devil cat. Merging these articles would be like merging the Toyota corolla with Toyota just because Toyota makes the car it dose not mean all the cars history and specs should be put on that page. - If anything the article should be merged with M/S Princess of Norway and given that name. Red Fox 14:46, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
Yeah well I think that’s what will end up happening but I will leave it for now and see what happens Mbruce1 03:37, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
- I'd agree that it seems silly to have two articles about the same vessel, just because it changed owners, names and routes. Is there an established precendent in a maritime wikiproject for this? That's a support for merging Spirit of Tasmania (first ship) to M/S Princess of Norway. However, merging a group of ships to their owner's article seems odd, especially if Abel Tasman (ship) and Devil Cat are not proposed to be included. I oppose that kind of merge, and would prefer to split each ship to its own article. --Scott Davis Talk 13:43, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
I wouldn’t have any major issues if this was merged with M/S Princess of Norway but the current merge tag is to merge this article with the Spirit of Tasmania and TT-Line (Australia) articles which I think is absolutely ridiculous ! Mbruce1 14:04, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
