Talk:Spira (family name)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Merging Spira (Spiro) into Spira (family name) looks like a sensible idea to me Pontificake 00:25, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
Spira = Spiral = coiled, "helmet straps" and "coiled SNAKE" have no basis in fact that I'm aware of
- No Way the origin of the name is from the town Schpire in Germany, so if anything it should be merged to that, but no, since Spiro is a common enough way to spell the name. In the Hebrew wikipedia it should be easier merging this and other versions of the spiro family name, but not here. Chavatshimshon 06:44, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Merge
I've merged Spira (Spiro) and Shapiro to Spira (family name), and cleaned up the various redirects and disambigs pointing here. —Quarl (talk) 2007-02-26 01:29Z
[edit] Alternative etymologies
I've put the two alternative etymologies in their own section for now. They need to be sourced else should eventually be removed. —Quarl (talk) 2007-02-26 01:30Z
