Spitfire (Lady Jacqueline Falsworth-Crichton) is a fictional character, a superheroine in the Marvel Comics universe, and a former member of the Invaders.
[edit] Fictional character biography
Jacqueline Falsworth was born in Maidstone, England. She originally received her super-speed through a blood transfusion from the original Human Torch. Her super-speed faded as she grew older, until she received another transfusion from the Human Torch. The transfusion not only restored her youth and powers, but also established a psychic link between her and the Torch.
Jacqueline married a British nobleman, Lord Crichton, and together they had a son, Kenneth Crichton. Kenneth was later seduced by a vampire cult leader, Baroness Blood, who bore him a son. Kenneth became a vampire as well and took the name Baron Blood, but his lover betrayed and murdered him. Baroness Blood has become one of Jacqueline's most persistent enemies.
Jacqueline's first husband Crichton died by the hands of his own son after trying to save and change his life. Jacqueline was devastated by this, but in her time of grieving she met the X-Man Gambit (Remy LeBeau) and fell in love with him. She decided to get married again while Remy promised to find a cure for her son.
She later joined the New Invaders, but resigned with most of the other members after the Torch's death. She also had a brief relationship with the third Union Jack, namely Joey Chapman, but they broke up due to the large age difference.
