Spirostomum is a member of the protist kingdom. It is an animal-like protist, or protozoan. It is considered fairly large and can grow up to .17 in (3 mm) so that it can be seen with the naked eye. It is a brown worm found in pond water.
Spirostomum is a unicellular organism, however it has mutiple nucleii. Spirostomum is covered with cilia.
