Identifying spiders by color is a strategy that can be helpful for the exception to the characteristic dull earth colors of most spiders. Here are spiders grouped by their predominating colors:

There are over 40,000 spider species. Classified mostly by varying body parts, example being eye arrangement. Unless you plan on pulling out a magnescopic camera and sending a series of pictures to a spider expert, knowing what color it is gives you a VERY small chance of identifying a spider.
