Spicy City
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Spicy City was an animated television miniseries created by Ralph Bakshi, who wrote two episodes.
The series, produced by HBO, premiered in July 1997, and was one of the first animated TV shows made strictly for adults, predating South Park by one month.
Spicy City was an anthology series, along the lines of Tales from the Crypt, but with a sexier, animated host: Raven, voiced by Michelle Phillips. Each episode featured a different science fiction story set in a futuristic city with a seamy side.
The show lasted for only one season, but became a cult favorite among Bakshi fans. Episodes, however, became extremely hard to find, as they were never officially issued on VHS or DVD. Bootleg copies, however, have shown up on eBay and bittorrent sites.
