Air Bud: Spikes Back is the fifth film in the Air Bud series, and its title is a play on Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back.

Andrea Framm discovers that her dog, Buddy, has an uncanny ability to play the sport of volleyball. Buddy excels at the sport and leads Andrea's team to the championship. However, just before the championship game, Buddy must solve several crimes that appear to have been committed by him. It is up to Andrea; with a little help from her brother, Noah; to help clear Buddy's name and lead their team to the championship!
