This species of moth in the family Sphingidae is a pest on local mockingbird populations. Its proboscis is used as a siphon. This moth is considered incredibly dangerous and one moth is capable of killing 12 men with its venom. It has also been rumored to be a distant relative to the cephalopods.}}
