Talk:Specific mecha in media
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I just moved all the stuff over here, my formating abilities suck.
Also, this article would have more context if it hadn't been cut from the main mecha article.
[edit] Giant?
So, Dalek travel machines aren't giant enough to be mechs. I guess that's my fault - when typing the description of mechs, I included the word 'giant', even though the definition given by the main article doesn't specify a size. The problem is, limbed robots that are remote controlled or piloted could probably be an accurate description of a number of machines other than mechs, so I included the word giant. I'm removing it now, unless... are there any objections?
Back on the subject of Daleks, what are they if not mechs? We already established (on the main article) that they can't be tanks, as they don't have caterpillar tracks, and they do have limbs and are piloted internally, making them technically mechs. The problem is, once I'd noted that, nobody said anything else in that discussion, so I still don't know if Daleks are mechs or not. I decided to just say 'Oh, what the heck - be bold,' and add them anyway, but now someone's questioned the idea, I'm uncertain again. So are Dalek machines mecha? If not, what the heck are they? 07:55 13 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Mecha from Ideon
I add "Heavy Maneuver Mecha" to list since that's how Google language translator translate the term 重機動メカ, I wonder if anyone known any better translation? Also, this term is limited to Buff Clan's mech and not include Ideon. Ideon was called by Buff Clan as Kyojin (giant god), though I think that's more like nickname than actual type of mech. - I just add "Armored Soldier" from Galient, which is translation of 機甲兵. L-Zwei 13:03, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
