- SPEX (company), SPEX CertiPrep Inc is an International corporation focusing certified reference materials (CRMs) and Sample Preparation equipment for analytical laboratories. SPEX CertiPrep’s certified reference materials (CRM) division specializes in inorganic standards for AA, ICP, ICP-MS, Ion Chromatography instrumental techniques and organic standards for GC, GC-MS and HPLC instrumental techniques. Their Sample Preparation division focuses on Mills & Grinders for a wide range of traditional particle size reduction applications and more recently for biotechnology applications with their cryogenic mill used for cryogenic grinding. The range also includes XRF pellet presses and XRF accessories.
HISTORY
The company was founded in 1954 and is headquartered in Metuchen New Jersey, USA. The manufacturing facility is also based at this location and has accreditation from A2LA for complying with ISO 17025 and ISO Guide 34 for the production of CRMs. The company has a European subsidiary, SPEX CertiPrep Ltd. located in London, UK, which is responsible for European distribution. In addition to SPEX CertiPrep standards, the UK office also upplies Matrix Based certified reference materials world-wide.
