Spencers Wood

Spencers Wood is a village in the civil parish of Shinfield, 4 miles south of Reading in the Royal County of Berkshire, United Kingdom.

The village was named after the le Despencer family — a Norman family — in the 13th Century. Until about 1300, the village was part of the Royal Forest (Windsor Forest).

Lenny Henry CBE and Dawn French live in Spencers Wood, but have purchased a new home in Fowey, Cornwall.

Spencers Wood has a library that serves the surrounding villages.
