Spencer Smith Park

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Spencer Smith Park is a park in downtown Burlington, Ontario right on the brink of Lake Ontario. It is home to the Sound of Music Festival as well as the largest annual Ribfest in Canada. It has a small beach and plenty of walking paths along Lake Ontario.

The City of Burlington Waterfront Project opened in early June of 2006. It is home to Spencer's, a two hundred plus seat restaurant with a large patio overlooking the water. There is a Bite Cafe downstairs on the same level as the Rotary Centennial Pond. The entire walls of the building are built of glass offering beautiful views of Lake Ontario and Lakeshore road. The Centennial Pond features ice skating in the winter months, and is used as a model sailboat pond in the summer. The Dofasco Waterjet plaza will open in late July of 2006 and will offer a water play area for children with jets spraying water in the air, as well as a refreshed playground.
