Special Troops Battalion 4th Infantry Division (United States)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 4th Infantry Division Special Troops Battalion came into existence on 15 December 2004. It was formed out of portions of the former HHC 4th Infantry Division, 124th Signal Battalion, 104th Military Intelligence Battalion, and the 4th Infantry Division Band.

The unit deployed in November 2005 to support Operation Iraqi Freedom 5.

While deployed, several other army units fell underneath STB's command. Among those were the 303rd Psychological Operations company. The 303rd's detachments were then attached to all the brigades in MND-B. The only 4th ID STB soldier to be Killed in Action during this deployment, Corporal Adam Knox (KIA September 17, 2006 in Baghdad), belonged to the 303rd.
