Talk:Space Quest

The main page could use some heavy spelling and grammar checking.
There was a very brief announcement by Sierra that a Space Quest game was planned for Xbox. Then the plan was cancelled. Anyone have details?
- When Vivendi Universal closed Sierra Entertainment, all projects were shelved, including the console games Space Quest and Kings Quest. If the new Larry sells well the project may of course be revived, but there's no guarantee. [[User:Anárion|Åℕάℛℹℴη]] 10:00, 14 Sep 2004 (UTC)
I am only familiar with the fourth game, but would like others to add specifics concerning the other games.
Thanks.
-- The game was fro Escape factory, who never publically admitted it, but was clear from internal documents released after the company went out of business. Check SpaceQuest.net for details. A very sad story.
PC versions of the game now supported mouse movement and a new, heavily improved, text phraser.
should that be parser? --Plicease 03:44, 24 Jan 2005 (UTC)

[edit] GAH
I was apparently logged out somehow while revising the article. So the "09:44 Apr 18, 2005" revision attributed to "208.20.220.72", that'd be me. -DynSkeet 14:49, Apr 18, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] "smell" and "taste" icons
I think that at least one of the Leisure Suit Larry games (possibly the VGA remake of #1) also had smell and taste icons. Can anyone confirm this? -DynSkeet (talk) 14:06, July 28, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] ScumSoft
I believe that ScumSoft is a parody on Microsoft, not SunSoft. This is backed up by the likeness of the CEO to Bill Gates. Can someone confirm/deny this? - Anonymous
As far as I can tell, as well as all other sources in the world can tell other than this one person who seems to continually enforce Sunsoft, it is in fact a reference to Microsoft. The person enforcing should have the burden of proof if he intends to keep enforcing this fact that no evidence supports (no evidence supports Sunsoft). - Clovis15
- That was me reverting all those times. The article originally had SunSoft so when it was changed I thought it was either a mistake or vandalism. If you have sources that says it references Microsoft, then go ahead and change it and I wont revert it anymore. -th1rt3en 07:00, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Recent vandalism
I've posted all the warnings including the final warning for Pictureuploader's blanking of the content from this article. In case I don't see it first, if Pictureuploader blanks content again, please report it on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism.
If anyone else vandalizes, please do drop them a nice little note.
Thanks! SchuminWeb (Talk) 10:01, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
- I am not sure if you actually are writting it or if you have a bot acting as programmed. Please take a look to my reply in my talk page. I am not vandalizing Space Quest, and please don't restore information that has been already moved; by doing so you are actually duplicating information that exists elsewhere. Just take a time and look at the links I created (linking to each game in its separate article) before I moved the bulk information. Pictureuploader 10:18, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Kielbasa
Commander Kielbasa, a Cowardly Lion look-alike whose name is a play on both the feline Kilrathi from the computer game series Wing Commander and the character Mufasa from the animated motion picture The Lion King.
So his name has absolutely nothing at all to do with kielbasa; it's just a coinicidence? 72.200.136.89 15:54, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- I think the name was probably chosen in part for humorous effect (named after a polish sausage), but the name also fits in with that which you quote above. SchuminWeb (Talk) 01:31, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
-
- I was simply wondering why such an esoteric origin was included without even mentioning the other, more obvious one. 72.200.136.89 21:52, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Preceded/Succeeded by
Is Preceded/Succeeded by -template really necessary in the game articles? There is already the series template below it. --Mika1h 18:49, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
- Seems somewhat redundant to me... SchuminWeb (Talk) 04:49, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Narrator?
The later games were all narrated by a brilliant voice actor giving a distinctive personality. I think it was Keith Scott. Any confirmations? Should be included.
- It was Gary Owens in both games. -th1rt3en 01:50, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
