Spartacus (Fast novel)

Spartacus is a 1951 historical novel about the slave Spartacus written by Howard Fast that inspired the film by Stanley Kubrick.

The novel is ended with the words "And as long people work, and as long others take the fruit of their work, shall the name Spartacus be said, rather as silent whispers, than loud calls."
