[edit] Beetles, and Category:Beetles
Is there a reason why you're removing Category:Beetles from the beetle stubs? I had always thought it was good policy to leave the category there, i.e. that all stubs should be in at least one category, even if it merely repeats the stub category. --Stemonitis 12:05, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
A question about a recent edit by yourself (USER:SP-KP) concerning the Aphthona article: Why is it not a stub? Sure, there's a whole long list of species names, but the actual information seems pretty scant as yet and certainly in need of expansion. Just wondering where our opinions were differing. Thanks, --Jhml 18:54, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] SSSIs Avon v Somerset
Hi,
I noticed you'd recategorised several SSSIs from Somerset to Avon - seeing as Avon no longer exists & these are in the county of Somerset I wondered why? — Rod talk 14:51, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- OK I now understand your rationale (although I think most users might not) - how about an explanatory paragraph on the category pages eg "some SSSIs in Somerset may be listed in Avon because.... & then the explanation you gave me? — Rod talk 16:05, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- seems fine - might also need one on the defunct county page eg Category:Sites of Special Scientific Interest in ClevelandDo you want me to copy & adapt for Somerset & Avon?— Rod talk 16:38, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
I can't find any evidence of Stanton Drew as an SSSI - I think this may have been confused with ancient monuments - I've removed it from the Template:Chew Valley & may do another line saying historic features or similar. Looking at it I need to tidy & expand the Stanton Drew article when I get some time. — Rod talk 14:14, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Category:Myriophyllum
Hi SP-KP - this is a ridiculously small category (3 entries!) which doesn't perform any useful purpose. They should be retained in Category:Saxifragales to make the categorising more useful - it makes checking 'recent changes' for vandalism a lot easier, doing 100-200 pages at a go, rather than having to navigate to 20 or 30 tiny genus categories only to check a handful of pages for each one. Once Category:Saxifragales breaks 200 articles (the max that will show on the cat page), then (but not before), they could be re-catted to a new Category:Haloragidaceae - MPF 17:21, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks; there's never been any formal decision on plant categorising, but I've posted on it a couple of times Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Tree of Life#Categorisation and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Tree of Life#Cat:Birds by classification and no-one ever opposed my suggestions or requested anything different for plants; User:SB Johnny came to similar conclusions over one contributor's splitting off lots of genus cats in Category:Caryophyllales, which all got re-sorted to family cats and the genus cats deleted (see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Plants#Really odd category needs cleanup... for his request for assistance) - MPF 18:15, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Admin coaching
Hi, you're getting pretty close to the top of the list for admin coaching (especially as most of the others ahead of you are inactive). I just wanted to check that you're still interested in receiving it. Let me know on my talk page and I'll assign you coaches as soon as possible. Cheers, Petros471 11:55, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
- Your coaches are User:(aeropagitica) and User:The Gerg. Hope you enjoy the coaching and find it useful. Let me know if you have any questions. Petros471 13:33, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

- Hi SP-KP! This is my first request to be an admin coach for Esperanza, so it's a great opportunity for everyone to learn a lot about the process. Your questions and ideas are the most important part of this, so please tell us what you want to get out of admin coaching. Are there any areas that you particularly want advice on? Rather than spreading the admin coaching around lots of user Talk pages, let's create User talk:SP-KP/admin coaching to hold the conversations by-topic. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Regards, (aeropagitica) (talk) 13:56, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

- Hello! Just to let you know that I haven't forgotten about you. I have heard nothing from The Gerg, my co-coach and his userpage says that he is on a Wikibreak. We may have to ask for another coach if we hear nothing from him in the next few days, unless you are in no particular hurry? (aeropagitica) (talk) 21:52, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
- Hello. I aplogize for the inconvineience of being away. I was on vacation and got the dates mixed up for my vaction and when I got back! So anyway, I have been a contributer here since September 2005, and I am honored by the opportunity to teach users about Wikipedia. I think you will find this experience enjoyable to. Hi SP-KP! As far as I can see your admin coaching doesn't appear to have begun. If you are still interested in receiving it, please got in contact with your coaches so they can help you out with any questions you have. If you no longer wish to receive it, let me know and I'll archive your request. Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers, Petros471 11:32, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Ivory-billed Woodpecker
I notice you're interested in getting this article up to GA status. Have you checked out Cornell Laboratory's Birds of North America webiste? [1] While the site is subscription there are 6 bird species which are free to view without paying, one of which is the Ivory-bill, and you won't find anything more comprehensive. It could help tighten up the biology of the species section (which looks short compared to the rediscovery). Good for finding links to journal articles too. [edit] Chew Valley SSSIs
Thanks I've now done a page for Burledge Hill. do you know of an info box for SSSIs or should there be one? — Rod talk 19:38, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
- I've added some data on Burledge Hill, Chew Valley Lake & Folly Farm to your List of SSSIs in Avon but I've never done an info box & don't think I have the time/skills. — Rod talk 20:42, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
Nempnett Thrubwell In the parish, The Fairy Toot is an extensive oval barrow, formerly a chambered cairn which is a Scheduled Ancient Monument, on the national monument register as '22826'. The Fairy Toot south-southwest of Howgrove Farm is a mound 60m long, 25m wide and now 2.5m high, retained by a stone wall. Its summit is covered with ash trees and shrubs. Formerly it was considerably higher. On being opened in 1789 and essentially destroyed, it was found to contain two rows of cells, running from south to north, formed by immense stones set edgeways, and covered by others of larger dimensions. At the time it was conjectured to be a work of the Druids, but its origins are far older and probably date from the neolithic period.— Rod talk 17:43, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
- OK on Nempnett. I've added a couple more Avon SSSIs but would appreciate your helkp with Fern species on Harptree Combe— Rod talk 19:22, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] albatrosses again.
I found this great reply to Penhallurick and Wink's paper that caused ruffled feathers on the albatross peer review and FAC. [2] It might be an interesting read since both papers also deals with the whole order, and I have both Procellariidae and, eventually, Storm-petrel in my sights. Incidentally, are you interested in trying to push for FA status on the Ivory -bill article? Sabine's Sunbird talk 00:13, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
- I think we should peer review Ivory-bill first, once we push it through there I'll be happy to nominate it. I will also have a stab at expanding some of the biology aspects. The fieldwork is going fine, we have pretty much finished banding albatross chicks (around 3000 of them!) and the boobies are coming up for banding now. They are nippy little bastards, more so than the albatrosses, and my arms area network of scars at the moment. Good night! Sabine's Sunbird talk

[edit] Subpages
Hi SP-KP! Since you put {{prod}}-tags on some of your user subpages, I have gone ahead and deleted them. In general, subpages of your userpage do not need to be "prodded" because the WP:CSD#User pages lists "owner request" as a speedy deletion criterion, so you can tag such pages with {{db-owner}} templates. An administrator will then usually have them deleted within a few minutes.
See you! Sjakkalle (Check!) 15:22, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Template:SSSI-stub
Though you should know that SSSI-stub is up for discussion/renaming/deletion at WP:SFD. Though it appears to be a viable stub-type, the name of the template and the way the category is arranged within the stub hierarchy are both problematical. In future, please follow the normal conventions and propose any new stub templates or categories prior to creation (as explained at WP:STUB), so that these sorts of problems can be sorted out beforehand. Grutness...wha? 02:54, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] EN descriptions for SSSIs
I've changed them slightly as I'm worried about the copyright of the EN citations - to get to them you have to click a button saying you will not abuse them (access rights etc) & we are linking to the actual document which bypassess this satge should we use a higher level one for each SSSI eg point to: http://www.english-nature.org.uk/special/sssi/sssi_details.cfm?sssi_id=1002713 rather than http://www.english-nature.org.uk/citation/citation_photo/1002713.pdf — Rod talk 10:44, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Appleyard's Feather-moss
After your comment about Appleyard's Feather-moss on Harptree Combe have you spotted on Arkive that "Although previously considered a distinct species and classified as Near threatened in the UK, genetic evidence published in 2005 suggests that this moss is in fact a member of the widespread moss species, Scleropodium cespitans."? — Rod talk 11:01, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Penwith peninsula
I've been following the links that lead to the Penwith peninsula article that we talking about merging and I came across the List of sites in Britain recognised for their biodiversity conservation importancepage where I notice that you've done a lot of nice work (presumably your angle for creating the peninsula article?). Anyway - I thought it might be nice to include a small potted paragraph of the sites in Penwith that you mention there for the Penwith/Penwith peninsula merged page if it goes ahead as there is no ecological information on either page at present. It wouldn't have to be very long, just a flavour of what is there and would link back into the biodiversity page for those wanting more information. I was wondering if you would be up for composing something as you obviously have the skills and knowledge? I don't think I could do it as much justice ;) Take care Mammal4 14:40, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

I have also been in email contact with someone from [3] asking them to take a look at the Mendip Hills pages. I've done some editing on Plaster's Green Meadows but lots of the species are red libnks - do you know if I've got the names wrong for any of them? — Rod talk 14:49, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the offer of species advice. Re: Mendip Hills, before i do any work (template etc) how is this defined? common usage, or is there a geographers definition? should we use the area of AONB, ie that at [4], which mean some overlap with Chew Valley. [edit] Re:SSSI-stub
- Just thought I'd check whether you thought we had reached a decision now on this stub. I'm still adding it to articles at the rate of a few per day, so if we're not going down the redirect route, that's creating more work the longer we leave it.
It's still a little up in the air, but even if you continue using the current name it can be changed by bot if necessary. UK-SSSI-stub would be a little less obscure a name (though the UK is the only country which currently uses the SSSI designation, we'd have problems if anywhere else started following the British system, which is possible in Australia or NZ, say, or the Rep. of Ireland). The one thing to make sure is that the articles are double stubbed with whichever the county/country geo-stub is or struct-stub is (historic buildings may be a bit of a problem with the SSSI-stub, since they're not covered by geo-stubs, so we may need to revisit that one at some point). [edit] Yurikbot
Yurikbot makes thousands of changes to Wikipedia, changes that are overall useful and important to Wikipedia. Why do you have to demand that Yurik fix your problem, instead of fixing it yourself? The FAQ is not a large page, and would explain clearly what's going wrong. All Yurikbot does is follow interwiki links and make them work all ways; the Italian page is linked to the English page, so the English page should link to the Italian page. All you have to do is change the Italian page.--Prosfilaes 06:58, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

- If that was you on a go-slow I shudder to think what you'll be like when you really get started ripping into the article. Still, it was good, really cleaning up. I'm a triffle worried about the taxonomy section, given as how procellariid taxonomy makes albatross taxonomy seem quite well ordered, and my inability to read several crucial papers. Still, thanks for prying yourself away from the sun long enough to help. I'm kind of jealous, here I am in Hawaii and it's warmer back home in England. Go figure! [edit] References in List of Sites of Special Scientific Interest in Avon
I've changed the way we were doing references in the Avon list. If you could comment that would be good. Personally I think it solves some of the problems of having a huge list of inline citations which took up more space. It also allows inline citations to be used for other references and the last column can be links to the maps. Suicidalhamster 15:00, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
Sorry for not replying on the formatng of this list sooner I've been away. Do you think the Avon SSSI list is now stable? ie should we apply the same column headings etc to Somerset?— Rod talk 19:23, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Clackmannan
I have no question about your good faith; I also see no reason to keep the category if we have no articles that belong in it. When you find one, you can add the correct form to that article as a new category. Septentrionalis 21:58, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, striking it out, somewhat as I did. This preserves the record. Similarly, if you want to alter talk-page comments, especially after someone has replied to them, it is usual to use <s> and </s> and [bracket] additions. Septentrionalis 22:32, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Cleveland SSSI stubs
Hi - any chance you can use either Durham-geo-stub or NorthYorkshire-geo-stub for any new Cleveland SSSI stubs you make? [edit] Yanal Bog
They are not a prerequisite and neither are images, but they are still highly recommended. You still only have one source and it looks like you copied information from it. Add maps, photos. Find new sources for it. Your site description portion only has one sentence. The lead is weak. I am pretty sure you can talk about more than just Site Description and Biological Interest. Currently, this article has 0% for Good Article. I would focus more on it not being deleted at this point actually. --GoOdCoNtEnT 08:52, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Yanal Bog again
Thanks for your reply. To address your points:
- They are not a prerequisite and neither are images, but they are still highly recommended.
OK, so I think you are saying that these do not prevent GA status. Tell me if that's wrong.
- You still only have one source and it looks like you copied information from it.
I'm not sure what you mean by this. Sure, I took information from the source listed, but that's what sources are for. Can you expand on this?
- The lead should be longer and include more information about the bog. It should include information about how it is special, different, etc.. Try looking for print sources. Some will have information about it. Also, there is a site about Conservation Policy. [6] Everything has a history. You just have to do more research. Currently, this page is close to be considered to be a stub. Stubs cannot be good articles. Good articles can be short but they still have to be broad. One source , which seems to be biased toward environmental groups, is not enough for such an article to get GA status. Good referencing is crucial, period. Pictures and inline citations are not necessary for GA status, but they increase the quality of an article significantly, greatly increasing its GA chances. I believe that for such a topic such as a waterbody, there have to be pictures. You can try to find a local photographer to take pictures for you or look at database. Just do research. Inline citations will help reviewers know from where information came from. Also, your page needs copy-editing. It has red links all over it and it appears to be directly copied from the source at some points. (It is ok to do it if you have inline citations though). --GoOdCoNtEnT 19:03, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
I agree on all of your comments except that:
- You need a map or satellite photo [7]
- You never mentioned the chemical treatement in the article.
Continue doing research. Remember that broadness is a necessity for an article, and photos are highly recommended. I can let our article slide without photos but I cannot without broadness. Please look again at the requirements. WP:WIAGA --GoOdCoNtEnT 22:38, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- Lake Lure, North Carolina is an example. I think there is more that can be stated about it though. --GoOdCoNtEnT 23:16, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- A regional map would be better, and try to find a satellite photo (that would be great). But if you can't find anything about than the UK map with a dot, go ahead with it. --GoOdCoNtEnT 23:40, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ladies Spring Wood (S. Yorks) - SSSI?
I got the info from a detailed map and information board by Beauchief Abbey. That's my main reference for most of the info but it's obviously a bit difficult to verify unless you actually go out there yourself. On the other hand, a quick google finds a few mentions:
- Bradway local history - much the same text as is printed on the information board, clearly using the same source
- Sheffield Round Walk - Ladies Spring Wood - report of a local path restoration project, which mentions the wood as being an SSSI
- Other areas of green space - Sheffield wildlife trust
These probably aren't authoritative enough to be certain, but I think they're enough to make it likely. I think. --VinceBowdren 18:45, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
Ladies Spring Wood does seem to be also called Totley wood. [8] Not something I knew before, and its not mentioned on the information board on site, but but there's certainly no other wood around Totley laying claim to the name. --VinceBowdren 19:14, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I've recently put Kennet and Avon Canal up as a featured article candidate & one of the reasons for opposition was the article as a whole is not comprehensive, with a specific comment about wildlife conservation. I will address some of the other queries, but wondered with your knowledge of List of Sites of Special Scientific Interest in Wiltshire etc whether you could add anything? All I remember when boating along was the large number of Herons & a few Kingfishers but I don't know the species or anything - I'm sure there is more that could be said if you were willing? — Rod talk 11:56, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re Comedian/comedienne
Hi SP-KP,
- I wondered if you had a source which you could point me at which says that British usage tends to "comedienne" for female comedians...
I know it's not kosher, but how about a Google search for ["Joyce Grenfell" comedienne]...? (I'd say retaining the use of comedienne/actress/etc useful for those instances where names are unisex, but appreciate that I'm probably in a minority.) Yours, David Kernow (talk) 18:13, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
PS Just revisited the page and saw my unforgiving edit summary – apologies!
[edit] Otheruses on Horseshoe Bend, Arizona?
Just curious, why put an otheruses link on Horseshoe Bend, Arizona? It's not like somebody typing "Horseshoe Bend, Arizona" is looking for a different page. -- Moondigger 20:29, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
- Makes sense. I'm thinking that its placement at the top of the article is appropriate when used for disambiguation, and inappropriate when used in the way you intend. Can an otheruses tag be placed elsewhere in an article, or does Wiki policy require it be at the top? -- Moondigger 22:11, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] NVC
No discussion is necessary. Please see WP:MOS, WP:NC and their various subpages. Chris talk back 17:09, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
- A good start would be the "nutshell" box on WP:NC. We title articles by what something is called, rather than what it is. For instance, there is an article at M6 motorway as opposed to M6 motorway (Coventry to Carlisle via Preston and Lancaster). Though, in all fairness, most of the NVC articles should be merged into a smaller series, the "X in the NVC" series, but with shorter titles. Chris talk back 18:04, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Cox's Sandpiper
There are a few things you can do to bring this article to GA status. They are:
- Add inline citations to bring the article to meet WP:WIAGA criteria 2b.
- Add a taxobox.
- Follow the Manual of Style heading guideline.
- If possible add a few pictures to enrich the article.
Hope this helps and feel free to relist the article an WP:GAN soon Tarret 00:03, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
By inline citations we need footnotes to help verify and prove what is and isn't original research. This is because as according to WP:CITE "The Harvard referencing system places a partial citation". Everything otherwise looks good. Feel free to renominate the article at WP:GAN when it is ready.
- As to your reply all you need to do is convert the references to footnotes. Of course a few web references would improve the article alot further but thats up to you. Tarret 22:05, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] CVL - Ramsar status?
I was looking at a planning application today v near the lake & the environmental survey attached to the proposals (under associated documents - NB only accesible with IE), in amongst stuff about badgers, bats & dormice, includes the paragraph "There is a single site within 1km of the site. Chew Valley Lake is of international importance, designated as a Ramsar site (under the Ramsar convention) and Special Protection Area (SPA) for migratory birds." — Rod talk 22:18, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
- OK shall I remove it or will you? I note most of that list in England are not on Ramsar list of wetlands of international importance, should they also be added to individual pages eg Somerset Levels & Moors ? — Rod talk 19:00, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ben Nevis
Hi SP-KP,
Looks to me like you only removed one POV-ish word. :-) But I really wasn't so worried about POV, actually. It's about a geographical location; not too many debates etc. A little bit of a positive spin is somewhat forgivable, as long as it doesn't descend it abject boosterism. :-) So don't worry about this.
There are still 9 [citation needed] tags on the article. GA is not FA, as everyone likes to say, but 9 is just too many. Please knock some of those out. I won't say how many.. but..certainly at least 5. All would be better.
I just noticed something else, but this will take only about 3 minutes to fix: the lead should mention some of the other topics covered in the article. Here I'm talking about adding perhaps three sentences max to the lead, perhaps only two sentences. Look at the article, find a couple of the more important sections that are completly unmentioned in the lead, and mention them. I'm not even talking about mentioning every section here. Just something about 1 or 2 more. A tiny bit more complete.
Cheers, --Ling.Nut 20:43, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] NVC, again
Hi SP-KP, and MANY MANY THANKS for taking up this project in my enforced absence, basically my update is to say that I have established a web-space at sourceforge with a view to creating some kind of querying system, ie an application, something that obviously cannot be done on Wikipedia! --Jkh.gr 21:06, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Tuley tube
Hello SP-KP. I recently made a couple of small edits to this page (I think you started the article), and I've since been pondering the use of 'Tuley tube' as the title. I feel that the more commonly used name for these objects is 'Tree shelter', certainly in forestry and arb circles. Therefore I propose changing the name of the article. I would welcome your thoughts. The Boy that time forgot 20:58, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Editor's Index to Wikipedia
I've taken your page, User:SP-KP/Wikipedia Topics, and used it as the basis for an index. I want to thank you for the work that went into that (since it made what I did much easier). So if you're interested, please take a look at User:John Broughton/Editor's Index to Wikipedia. Comments are welcome (and, of course, feel free to edit). There are a lot of rough edges (minor, I think): I've not checked all the links; I'd like a lot more brief descriptions on the lines, and I know I've missed pages, though I really believe that this is at least 60% of the way to having all the important subjects and links to pages within the index.
And, of course, if something similar is available somewhere else, in finished or unfinished form, I'd be really interested in that. Thanks. John Broughton | Talk 19:48, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

In case you hadn't noticed, List of people who became famous through being terminally ill has been proposed for deletion. NickelShoe (Talk) 05:56, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
- An edit conflict meant I didn't get a chance to reply to your question before the discussion got closed:

- I totally agree – if it was "an illness" then it could be useful for sure. However, "terminal illness" is too general and hard to define to be useful IMO. What connects someone in a PVS, an AIDS activist and a child dying for want of a new liver? The first got noticed due to controversy, the second promoted the cause themselves and the third was covered by a TV program prone to soppy heartache stories. By restricting the list to those who became famous for something they shortly then died of, you end up with a study of fleeting fame (but without the study, since it is just a bare list). In terms of salvage: well, there is a List of HIV-positive people with sections on activists, criminal infection and scientifically notable cases. Persistent vegetative state has a list of notable cases that (with one exception) are all notable solely for being in a PVS. Colin°Talk 20:08, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Mendip Hills
Hi, I've been doing some editing of Mendip Hills & have put it up for peer review (comments welcome) prior to going for FA status. Can I pick your expert knowledge... in doing it I've come accross the British National Vegetation Classification which I know nothing about. The Mendips article says "There are three nationally important semi-natural habitats which are characteristic of the area: Ash-Maple woodland (often with abundant small-leafed lime (Tilia), Calcareous grassland and Mesotrophic grassland. Much of the Mendip Hills is open calcareous grassland which supports a large variety of wild flowering plants and insects. Grazing by rabbits (Lagomorpha), sheep (Ovis aries) and cattle maintains the grassland habitat. Some of the area is deciduous ancient woodland."
Some bits link to the BNVC system & some don't. Would you be kind enough to take a look (particularly at the ecology section) & check I'm getting this right & whether I should be using more specific bits of the classification system. Thanks.— Rod talk 21:07, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Hello. I was surfing through the North American bird list doing some clean up and came upon the link to the Stonechat Saxicola torquatus which has bee recorded in Alaska. When I read through the article, I noticed the bird had been broken into other species. The DNA evidence looks compelling, but is it premature to split the species? None of the major ornithologist organizations have yet to officially recognize any of the subspecies as species yet. I was going to attempt some edits to make it more accurate, but since it was primarily a Eurasian bird, I thought I'd defer to someone across the pond. Not sure if you knew more, or whether it was worth a look.............Pmeleski 03:17, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

There is no need to create an article for each entry in the classification. Have you considered merging them upward to one page for each category, as on this page? Chris cheese whine 23:59, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- In the meantime, until you have the time to address this on talkj page, please stop adding new articles for each individual entry in the classification. Chris cheese whine 04:28, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, you seem to be misunderstanding how things work around here. When someone is questioning the addition of a large amount of material, you stop adding it as a matter of course until the issue is resolved. I can't find any record of the consensus you speak of. In fact, the only things I can find support not having a separate article on every single entry in the classification (including amongst others WP:NOT a directory). [edit] World Heritage template
Hi! I created a template for World Heritage Sites: {{Infobox World Heritage Site}}. Since many of the protected areas are also recognized as World Heritage Sites, I thought that it will be appropriate to forward this template here, and hopefully, for the community to help improve the template. Someone mentioned that the footnotes are unclear (i.e. why the need to emphasize "official" there). It's because the official name (or the name as inscribed on the List) is different from what we usually know. And the Region also has footnote to tackle specifically the classification of those regions which may fall ambiguously between two continents (e.g. those in Russia, Turkey, Cyprus, etc.). In addition, I think that the info provided in the template is much like a jargon for most readers since it box is more of use for internal references in the World Heritage program. I hope that the community will help improve the template and make it more relevant to the readers of wikipedia in general. Thanks. Joey80 13:46, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
